Posted: April 21th, 2001 Written by: Tuan "Solace" Nguyen Basic Game Tweaks After you’ve installed Black and White and launch the Setup, you’re presented with the following screen.  From the selections available above, you can change game resolution and color depth. If you’re a GeForce256 class graphics card or lower user, I suggest sticking to 800x600 or lower for the best combination of visuals and speed. You can leave Color Depth at 32bit unless you’re on a Voodoo2 or something of that level. Leave the Graphics Detail Level selection the way it is because we’re going to take a look at the advanced settings. Sound should be left on if you want to enjoy the game. If not, you can turn it off. Internet weather system is a really cool feature that Lionhead implemented. Basically, Black and White will connect to a weather server and find out how the weather is like in your local area and apply the same weather in the game. I think this is a really cool feature and suggest you leave it on because you all have Internet access. If you want to just jump straight into the game, you can choose one of the 5 options available in the Graphics Detail Level drop down menu. |
