A few More still shots
Here are a few more pictures taken in different lighting situations. In all situations, the color appears pretty natural, though slight distortion can be seen. Overall, this camera captures contrasts and hues fairly well.

The pictures above are from the server room in my office, which is lit with UV lighting. The camera does a good job of pulling color from the slightly yellow lighting. |

All in all, I was very satisfied with the pictures this camera takes, though it really shines when used as a web cam. The fact that Logitech throws in an 8 meg smart media card, which can store about 120 pictures at 640x480, makes this a great take along for parties or whatever. As well as taking one picture at a time, this camera also has a setting which allows you to take 5 consecutive photos, one second apart, with just one press of the shutter button. As you would expect, these look just as good as the other photos, as long as you're not moving the camera as the photo is being shot. Lastly, I wanted to mention the ability of the camera to record short videos. Because of bandwidth, I wasn't able to post the AVIs, but let me assure you, I was impressed by what I was able to record, both video and sound were clear, though the file size was a little large. Recording 10 seconds at 320x240 yielded about 1.3 megs. In general, I think this feature is better suited for larger memory cards. Of course, you can record video at 160x120, which gives you smaller files sizes. The microphone picks up sound in front of the camera better than from the back, so if you're like me and like to narrate, you'll need to speak up a little to be heard. |
