Conclusion and rating

After much deliberation, I decided to rate the camera as a web cam, and separately as a digital camera, then give it an over all rating, using the combined ratings to come up with a final score.

Web cam final thoughts, and score:
The ClickSmart 510 has some very good features. I am going to say it right up front, this is a great web cam. The ease in which you can get it setup and online is great. From the time I clicked the web cam tab to the time I uploaded my first pictures was about 5 minutes, including the account setup and confirmation. With the camera able to broadcast live shows, and its easy setup with other applications like iVista, not to mention the quality of image, and you are hard pressed to find a more feature-rich cam. If your bored, check my cam out here and see what a Uber-goober does all day. The account runs out in 30 days or so, but I should have another site up soon…maybe I will link to it on my other site. If you want, you can ICQ me at 155843449, and we can chat for a minute or two.
Web Cam rating: 90%

Digital camera final thoughts, and rating:
Though there were a few problems here and there, for example the batteries falling out as I pulled the camera out of my case, causing me to miss getting 4th of July fireworks shots, and the loss of the pictures from the zoo, I still enjoyed the camera's ease of use, and solid image quality. I even let my girlfriend and her mom take some pictures with it, and showing them how to use the camera only took a moment. Aside from the 60 second shut-off annoyance, both thought it was a good camera, and I agree. The pictures look a little grainy when you select the high option, and I would guess that anyone who buys this will do what I did: stick to the medium setting. The camera offers one-touch image and video transfer, which is integrated into the software seamlessly. I have to admit that I was impressed with its performance as a stand alone digital camera, some of the pictures came out way better than I expected, mostly because I am used to my Coolpix 880 (3.3 mega pixel), which takes amazing pictures. If you are in the market for either a low-cost or entry-level digital camera, or a high end web cam with a ton of extras, you'll really get a lot of use from this camera. You can find it in retail stores for about 149.95, but you can find it a little cheaper on www.pricewatch.com.
Camera Rating: 70%

Final overall Score: 80%
