Posted: December 19, 2000 Written by: Tuan "Solace" Nguyen Quake 3 Arena 1.25y  In Normal mode, Quake 3 looks decent but loses many of the details that are present when in High Quality mode. If you play competitively, you might want to reduce settings to gain a speed advantage.  I know lots of players turn down graphics detail when competing. At this level, Quake 3 runs beautifully at 1280x1024. If you intend on playing at a higher resolution, you’ll probably find yourself going back down to a lower resolution or using Fast or Fastest Mode. Let’s check out High Quality.  You’ll likely stick to your guns at 1024x768 in this level. The MX just doesn’t have enough bandwidth to go higher with reasonable speed. I remember the days when 30FPS was smooth as silk.  Same story here in Demo02. I just included it for variation. |
