Currently the best performer in 3DMark benchmarks is the Pentium 4 processor. One can argue that the Athlon is clocked lower and would beat the Pentium 4 if clocked the same, but then again that argument doesn’t make the Athlon clocked higher. The Pentium 4 seems to be performing well in DirectX 8 games as well. This is perhaps do to the inclusion of SSE2, which is likely since we don’t’ see much improvement in DirectX 7 games. |
