Besides, the V8200 bested the WinFast when it came down to overclocking. If I could somehow replace the heatsinks on both cards to be, we can tell who truly wins at overclocking. But for now, it’s even. Innovation: [ 9.9/10 ] Asus definitely gets two thumbs up for innovating. Besides having an already innovative GPU under the hood, Asus adds in cool features like stereo 3D shutter glass support, video in and video out for all your cabling needs. You can watch TV using the V8200 by plugging in S-video or Composite connectors and jacking audio through your soundcard. The more I list these features, the more I’m beginning to really like the V8200. Installation and Setup: [ 10/10 ] Okay so I slide it in and screw it. Heh. Bundle: [ 8.7/10 ] While Asus’ bundled software isn’t marvelous, it comes packed with more useful tools than the Leadtek WinFast. However, I can understand Leadtek’s position in not to include too many things -- most people just leave the CD’s to collect dust anyway. Asus packs in: AsusDVD software DVD player that’s based on CyberLink’s PowerDVD, Asus Live, for video in conferencing, Ulead VideoStudio player, CyberLink VideoLive Mail, 3Deep with True Internet Color, and a copy Star Trek Elite Force but for some reason my V8200 was missing this disc. I want my game! Price: [ 7.3/10 ] The price for the Deluxe version of the V8200 is steep, coming in at $449. The regular vanilla version can be had for about $389. When the V8200 series actually ships into stores, we may see some slight price drops but don’t count on it. |
