I get a minimum of five a day from my Christian dad. I'm totally sick of it. So what if you believe something.......it's inconciderate to spam the begeezus out of my inbox!
Where the fuck were all those chistian values when i was four and he was a violent drunken dictator beating the shit out of me on a semi daily basis? oh, that's right: 'christians aren't perfect, they are just forgiven". give me a break!

Wow, if someone sent me that, even my own mother, I'm pretty sure I'd stop talking to her. That is awful and not funny in the least.

Yeah, I love that. "Born again". Apparently God is fucking stupid and has the memory of a pot head. Just pray every day that he'll forgive you and eventually he'll just forget you ever did anything wrong.

Christianity is why I'm no longer a religious person. I grew up going to church but I just saw how fake people were and despite their believing in god they would do "unholy" things and I knew right then religion was a farce.

I believe in some greater power than just what's here on Earth, but organized religion scares me to death and I stay FAR, FAR away.

Science and God are the same, One is the whole, and the other is the hand.[/belief]
'Religeon' is for those affraid to go to hell. Spirituality is for those that have already been there. IMHO: "religeon" is nothing more than an instituted mind control. Every one of them has thier true believers and practicers (good people), but those ones are under the thumbs of the members who are in it for gains. Just like capitalism, you have the workers, then you have the ones who make thier billions off of them. People are easy to "blind" with a smokescreen, you just need to figure out which one of the seven deadly sins (+fears) appeals to them the most. Seven deadly sins - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

theres no such thing as heaven or hell. imma just lay it down like that.

religion was built for people who have no self control. weak minded people who cant control their inner morality need some form of control like the bible and 10 commandments.
if youre a strong willed person then you have the sense to know what can harm a human and so avoid doing that. I dont need to worship a man in the clouds to understand that killing another human is immoral or does harm to their family.. common sense tells me this.

and these people need a fuckign book to get that point across, and they end up going against what the believe anyways. the bible itself is contradicting AND hypocritical

its all about control and the bible was one of the earliest forms of "big brother", unfortunately its still enslaving so many people now. it needs to be destroyed along with the thousands of sub-religions.

People are putting tooo much into the polls.

the accusations of racism have been thrown about so much in this race....(who'da guessed it?) that I would not be a bit surprised to find that many people just said they would vote for Obama just so they don't have to deal with some Obama supporter asking if the reason they are not voting for Obama is race related. Even if it's not the implication that you are racist for not voting Obama is something many people don't want to deal with.

You are on your way out of a store you have to pick up the kids at school...some kid sporting an Obama pin asks who you are voting for....you can either say Obama and go on your way or say McCain and have this kid pester you with all kinds of questions which ultimately end up with race.

Likewise how many of the older generation say they are going to vote for Obama but when it comes time to flip that switch....they decide that they would rather have a white guy they disagree with in the oval office rather than a black dude who is in their party?

Sure many people vote party lines regardless of the candidate but then again we never had a half black guy running for office either.

it's gonna be a fun ride.

and yes, I lol'ed at the OP....racist?...perhaps but the number of people who think I am racist for laughing at that is precisely the number of people whose opinion I don't give a fuck about.

Right. You'd disown your Baby Boomer mother for lingering bigotry that was widespread and common during her life...

This posses a conundrum of querries:
What gives importance to being "moral"?
Why the need to be "good" as opposed to "evil"?
Why reach further than we can see?
    What's the purpose and meaning?
    Why ask "why"?
    Hmmmmmmm............................:-k

This is almost 2009. There's no excuse to be a racist at this point (not that there even was before).

Maybe that's why Obama didn't kick Rev. Wright to the curb so easily being a father figure and all.

I agree, but at the same time had you grown up and spent 60+ years in that sort of environment I would imagine you would have some difficulty being completely free from it.

Touche! Sweet Jah, if I were ever running for any sort of office I would have to have that woman's vocal cords extracted, or have her sent into hiding. She would be a liability on many, many levels. None to the level of Reverend Wright though.

This reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Peter decides to be a redneck. Then he watches that show about the big bang theory/how the earth was made, except edited for rednecks. The guy was talking about evolution but it just said "GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD". lol.

Racism is very much still alive. A couple of years back I went to a picnic and was in charge of bringing condiments. I bought some fun purple ketchup for the hot dogs and burgers. By the end of the picnic the bottle was still completely full. Not one person used the ketchup simply because it was the color purple. So yes, racism is still very much alive.

I was talking to my brother about the fact that my mom is "voting against" Obama because he scares her. Fine, whatever, I'm disappointed in her rationalization of Obama wanting to ban all guns and end missile defense. Both of which she wouldn't care about except for the fact that her brother works on the missile defense project and is all about his guns.

Anyways, I'm telling him that she told me this and he goes:

"Dude, I know, she even wants to get an unlicensed handgun."

    "...what?"

"Yeah, she's afraid that if Obama gets elected he's going to ban all the guns and start taking them away."

This woman is usually one of the smartest, most logical and usually possesses the most common sense of any person I've known. Sure she's got her whole Jesus is awesome and abortion is a horrible, horrible sin thing going on, but outside of those two things she can usually see past bullshit spin and what not. It's just one thing someone to be against Obama because of the Ayers and/or Wright controversies and feel uneasy because of those things. But really, believing the fucking NRA ads?

    I'm really disappointed.
