There's a ton of latent, below the surface racism out there. I'll say this - if Obama loses there is going to be some racial issues as a result. The vast majority of black folks will vote for Obama, and in the event of a loss they would be thoroughly marginalized as a voting block. I wouldn't rule out rioting.

The religious right wouldn't riot or behave that way en masse because they don't need to. Even with a black Democrat in the White House they'd still have plenty of money and power. Only the desperate and the hopeless riot. Kinda related to the topic, have you guys been getting all these political fliers in the mail? I bet I get 5-6 of them a day. From what I can tell McCain and Obama are both the devil, or our salvation. Depending on which one you happen to be reading. Some of these are pretty nasty.
I actually have not got a single piece of presidential campaign literature. I've gotten one or two fliers for local Democratic races, but that's it.
I think that's because they know how use liberal elite in Cascadia are going to vote, so it's not even worth trying. We watched the Obama Waffles video in my sociology class yesterday. It caused quite the stink.
I haven't received anything either. Probably because I'm in California and the outcome has pretty much already been determined.

All the closet racists are coming out of the woodwork, namely the christians and it really hurts me to see this. hurts me to see we as a human species havent evolved in 100s of years.. a HUNDREDS FUCKING YEARS. Sure the tools we use have changed but we, ourselves, have not. We need more atheist/agnostic/ryanism movements in this country. We gotta turn it around before its too late.
