I should have it later in the week although I really haven't been following the title too closely. Any more impressions? What games does it compare to?

The feeling is kinda like the movies The Thing/event horizon whitch is great thing. Its kinda slow pace because he walk really slow at the start and the slow motion is kinda cheating if ask me. and when you use the map it does not pause the whitch has killed me more then once.

    just starting chapter 3.

ps. you change the suit in the store. get one ps3 or 360 network its a free download and give more slots for items.

you know that think about its alot like the thing video game!!! It has heartbeat that controls your reaction and the mechanics.

This looks great and the reviews are all positive. Too bad EA is alienating their customer base so bad.

Also its a 12 hour game.

I might rent it this weekend and do a lock in like Torx.

Event horizon/The thing? Sounds like a good combo to me. ;)
There is no multiplayer in this at all, right?

My boss bought this yesterday and messaged me on PSN last night "I love it. I peed my pants twice".. If he says its good, I may have to check it out on PS3.

    this is pretty fuckin scary.

even when i anticipate or expect something to pop out *over there from the vent* it still scares the fuck out of me.

i cant imagine playing this in surround, with all the ambient sounds.. once i hear the monsters moaning and shit i get scared looking around real fast. The lighting is CRAZY, i can definately see someone getting a headache or going into convulsions.

i keep dying in chpt 2 with the introduction of the flying stingray monster and longarmed thing.
most games like HL2 or doom mentally wear me out to the point where i gotta take a break.
this game, i wanna continue nonstop but my 360 heats my room up like crazy to where im sweating my balls off, so im forced to take a break,

There's either something wrong with your 360, or you live in a closet. I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to do that.

I've been playing this off and on for about a week. It's okay. It's like RE4 + Bioshock in space. It's not really scary, but I'm probably missing out a lot by not having a proper surround sound system. I don't know. It's a good game, I'm just not too drawn by it so far.

PS: Gog, you know you can run with LB... right?

PSS: The makers of this game were amputee fetishists.

either deja vu, or youve said that before.. lol

im on chapter 7 now, been playing an hour or two a day, about 8 hours in..
and im drawn the fuck in.. scary as hell and everytime i let my guard down, thats when i get attacked. they must have some kind of system where the cpu recognizes when youre not in aim mode then unleashes a monster to scare you

Totally fuck that Asteroid crap. 5 tries before I got that shit. The game has great atmosphere. I've only had the chance to play it when my friend brings it over, but it's a lot of fun. I don't think it's worth a purchase, but it's a great rent/borrow.

10 hours in and im finnally realizing how big this fucking space ship is.
i would say its about the same size as my city length wise, if the ship were real

and to think, youre an engineer going from portion to portion repairing shit and actually bringing this damn thing back to life all the while monsters attacking you. Pretty ingenious of EA actually. The music and sounds are phenomenal, i play with my headphones on now so i can really get a feel of the sounds and how surreal it really is. Its quite amazing how the music and ambient sounds play a big part in the fear factor and how and when monsters come around.

Ya the sounds are great. I play on a 60" HD with full surround and I jump a ton when the lights are off.

I started playing last night and did the first three chapters. I gotta say I was pretty surprised. Though I wish I was playing it on the 360 now since the PC really doesn't offer any benefits and I'd have a bigger screen and surround sound :p

since you mentioned the pc version... one gripe i have is the fact you cant change the x/y axis sensitivity. Youre stuck with a slow sensititvity... unless i missed that setting somewhere in the options

Could someone give me a tip as to beating the wall vagina with arms thing beside the lift in chapter 5 that throws dead babies at you? Ive tried throwing the explosives at it, tried blasting the hell out of it with the contact beam, tried using the statsis module to slow it and run past to the lift, it cut off my head each time. Running out of options quickly. You can PM me if you don't want to wreck it for others, or do the fancy blanked out thing.

i use the line gun and just slice it asap because it continues to toss out the baby tentacles nonstop. you gotta aim for its arms or its tentacles to kill it off faster. if you can find a gas barrel laying around, toss it and it'll kill it alot faster

i fuckin hate those. at first they were taking up so much of my ammo until i started aiming for its arms. you'll come across about 2 or 3 more in the next couple of chapters
