Updated: September 22, 1999 Written by: Dan "Tweak Monkey" Kennedy Installing New Drivers As with any hardware, the newest drivers should always be installed with Voodoo3 cards to ensure that you have the most up-to-date software and utilities for the latest games and programs. Latest drivers (as of 9-21-99): Windows 95/98 AGP/PCI; Voodoo3 3500 TV drivers (v1.02.13): http://www.3dfxgamers.com/view.asp?IOID=29 Windows 95/98 AGP/PCI; Voodoo3 2000/3000 (v1.02.18): http://www.3dfxgamers.com/view.asp?IOID=15 Windows NT AGP/PCI; Voodoo3 2000/3000 (v1.02.10): http://www.3dfxgamers.com/view.asp?IOID=16 Linux: http://www.3dfxgamers.com/view.asp?IOID=31 MiniGL; 1.48: http://www.3dfxgamers.com/view.asp?IOID=28 If you want to play Quake3 (or Q3Test) you need to download the latest (Quake3 compatible) drivers. They offer better image quality and compatibility with some OpenGL applications as well. If you experience problems, try downloading older drivers and the MiniGL. The MiniGL may be required if you plan on using OpenGL games or applications without the latest drivers. If you use NT, there is only one set of drivers available to you. If any of the links above fail for some reason, you can always get the latest drivers from 3dfx.com. To download and install the drivers, simply click one of the links above. It will bring you to a page with information and links (on the right side). Click a link for the mirror of choice, and after you agree to the statement, you can download the drivers. Save them to the location you desire (I usually save drivers to my desktop so I can find them easily) and begin downloading. Once you have completed the download, double click the .exe file that you have downloaded and your drivers will install. Reboot and you're ready to go. |
