I have mixed feelings about the Pockey Datastor. It does what Pocketec says it will do, which is carry huge amounts of data from one PC to another, and transfer that data at reasonably fast rates. I even got to use it to my advantage when I was building a new PC. Instead of wasting 2 CDs to copy 1.2 gigs of MP3s over from my old machine to the new, I just copied them to the Pockey Datastor, plugged it in, and copied them over. I saved myself at least half the time it would have taken to burn them, and transfer them over using a CD-ROM drive. If you do any type of DJing, storing 20 gigs of MP3's on one drive, searchable through Windows, is certainly a excellent alternative to carrying 30 CDs around, and hoping you labeled them correctly. You can also carry 3 to 4 DVDs on a 20-gig drive as well. Consider the Pockey Datastor is fast enough to run the movies without having to transfer them, and you can see why this type of removable storage is so convenient. I was disappointed in not being able to test the drive on my laptop, and strongly recommend measuring the distance between the PS2 port and USB ports on your laptop before you buy the drive. Even if you don't use a PS2 mouse, you still need to use the port to get the drive is requised 500mA. The only other details missing are the inclusion of the security software the PR person mentioned and the lack of a activity lead on the drive. Other than that, I can recommend this drive to you, and not lose a moment of sleep. If you have an extra $200 to spend, and want a great alternative to carrying all your CDs to LAN parties, check this drive out. Remember, at the time of this posting, you can also get a 40 and 60 gig version, though the price is a little steep. Rating: 85%
