Performance [10/10]

The Logitech Z560’s are equal if not exceed the Pro Media’s in most performance aspects. The subwoofer will please most home users and PC audio enthusiasts whether they want to play games, watch DVD’s, or just simply listen to music.

Innovation [10/10]

The Z560 is quite an innovative system, the stainless steal center cones add to the sound and looks of the speakers. The 8inch subwoofer is a first ever seen in a PC Multimedia system that can output 188 watts compared to the dual subs that pump out 160 watts the Klipsch use. The hardware isn’t the last of the innovative features; the M3D decoder is a very useful audio enhancement that enhances the audio experience.

Installation and Setup [7/10]

Installation was easy since the speakers just used normal black and red speaker cables for connectivity with the subwoofer. The integrated/soldered down audio cables for connection to the sound card can be an inconvenience depending on where you’re placing the control center.

Price [10/10]

The Z560’s definitely receive a 10/10 for price. The audio quality of the speakers match if not surpass the Pro Media’s at only half the cost! At a price of $138.54 on iBuyer, the price is definitely worth it.

Analysis and Conclusion

Logitech has finally incorporated what they gained from the acquirement of Labtech into their own line of speaker systems. The ending result is a great speaker system that’s THX certified and low-cost. For the price, there are no other 4.1 speaker systems that can even get close to the Z560’s. Logitech has done a great job designing the Z560’s in terms of style and performance. They’re in-house developed M3D is a great audio decoder that actually enhances 2 and 4 channel audio providing a pleasurable listening experience.

If you’re an avid gamer and haven’t already purchased a 4.1 speaker system or looking for more from a 4.1 speaker system, the Z560’s should really be taken into consideration due to it’s low cost and great performance. Having a 4.1 speaker system while playing games really adds to the gaming experience whether it be Counter Strike or Need for Speed.

For those looking to watch DVD movies, the Z560’s sound very good with M3D enabled. Even though it lacks a center channel, enabling M3D creates a virtual center channel which sounds better then most 5.1 systems around the same price range. The powerful subwoofer offers ground shaking bass in movies such as “Mummy Returns” and creates a nice little theater setup.

If you’re into listening to music, the Z560’s are for you. The bass from the subwoofer is warm and offers enough bass to make your neighbors mad. At low volume levels, the speakers sound great with clarity. If you’re into blasting the music as loud as possible, the Z560’s have a lot to offer. When blasting the speakers’ results in no quality loss or distortion and enough bass to shake your room and house.

The Z560’s are very nice and shouldn’t be overlooked when you are considering a speaker system gaming, movies, or music listening.
