Introduction & details

Back in May of this year, I wrote my first review for tweak3d, the Wireless Gaming Desktop, which was basically a combination of the Cordless Optical Freedom, wireless keyboard & mouse combo, and the Wingman Cordless RumblePad. Today, 5 months later, and almost to the day, I am reviewing a new, updated version of the Cordless Optical Freedom, now called the Cordless Elite Duo. The changes made are subtle to the eye, but add a lot of functionality and ease of use. Let's take a look at the changes.

Included in the box this time around are the same thoughtful inclusions you would expect from Logitech, such as your first set of batteries, and a easily to follow installation manual. Here's a more detailed list:

What's in the box

  • The wireless keyboard & optical mouse
  • Wireless receiver w/ PS2 & USB connectivity
  • 4 AA batteries
  • Software & Drivers
  • Removable wrist pad
  • Windows 98, NT 4.0, 2000, Me, XP, or Mac OS X compatible
  • 5-year warranty

Let's take a look at the installing and configuring the Elite Duo.
