Benchmarks (cont.)

MDK2

Most of the performance you’re witnessing comes from better memory architecture but also from the tweak3D T&L unit in the GeForce3.

Quake 3 Arena

77FPS at 1600x1200 is finally a dream come true for large monitor users. For the first time ever, 1600x1200 is fully playable at an average frame rate. The GeForce3 is definitely targeted at people who want to play games at high resolutions. Sacrificing resolution to play smoothly is a thing of the past.

If you decide to turn on 2X FSAA, just jump straight to Quincunx. From the marks above, it’s clear that NVIDIA was telling the truth when it said that with GeForce3 we would get 4X FSAA quality at only a 2X performance hit. Why use 2X when you can get 4X quality for the same price?

Quincunx Anti Aliasing must be seen to be appreciated. It looks simply amazing and you’ll be more amazed at how fast it actually runs.
