Leadtek has done an excellent job at showing users what to connect where. If you have trouble reading a manual, or even if you don’t, you are most likely better off just looking at this picture to make all the correct connetions as it makes it a very simple process. The manual does go into detail about the software installation and driver installation. I ran into no problems with any driver installation or other software installation while installing the card. As always, Leadtek continues to update the drivers for the card to get rid of any bugs you may experience during your usage. Performance The TV 2000 XP performs great. It allows you to capture video and compress it using any codec you have installed on your PC. Most users will want to use DIVX as it offers an outstanding size to visual quality ratio when compressing the video files. It allows you to input from any device with a composite or s-video output. You can choose between or a pre-set quality in the list in the picture above or you can select your own compression format and optimize it to meet your needs. I only ran into one problem with my usage of the TV 2000 XP. With the volume of the WinFast TV program turned down very low, if you switch to WinFast FM the volume all of the sudden becomes very loud. Leadtek has released new drivers that correct this very issue however. From that, you can see that Leadtek is fixing any problems users may experience while using the card. With the scheduling utility, you can record live TV and never have to miss another episode of your favorite show again. The only down side is you need to have a massive hard drive to keep multiple shows on your hard drive at the same time. Being able to record from TV is a great feature; however, you can record your favorite episodes and then burn them to CD for safekeeping. Not only can you record TV but you can record from the radio as well. If you like to listen to a radio talk show that comes on in the we hours of the morning, now you won’t have to get up to listen to it. Set the scheduler to record it and it will be ready for you when you wake up. It doesn’t get much better than that. Conclusion Leadtek has developed yet another outstanding product. It will suit the needs of anyone who doesn’t need extremely high video input quality. If you’re looking for a product that will let you watch TV or listen to the radio from your computer you should definatly take a look at Leadtek’s WinFast TV 2000 XP. With the ability to record radio and TV as well as any other source, you can’t ask for much more. This would be great for someone who is looking for a product to help them input all of their home videos to the PC and then burn the to CD to make sure the video tapes don’t go bad. With a price tag of around $60USD you can’t get much more bang for the buck. Leadtek has released an amazing product at an amazing price. This will sure give the competition a run for their money. If you need a TV tuner or video capture card, the Leadtek will suit your needs. Even if you aren’t in the market for this type of device, you should take a close look at it anyway at such an amazingly low price. You will not be disappointed.
