Although the two CPU’s are virtually identical except for FSB, the extra speed increase does help move more data. With CPUMark and FPUMark benches, we see continual improvements across the board. It’s becoming very apparent that the faster your FSB is, the faster your performance is. Just think how insane your computer would perform if its FSB speed were synchronous with its CPU core speed! Talk about blistering performance never before seen -- and still yet to be seen. 3DMark2000 CPU Marks 3DMark2000 proves that although you don’t get much of an increase on the CPU alone, having a faster FSB does equate to overall system speed increases. CPU isolated benchmarks such as CPUM/FPUM and 3DMark2000 CPU don’t really show the entire picture. |
