The heatsinks on its memory modules are to be reckoned with. I absolutely love them. ![]() Here’s a closer look at the cooling system Hercules has implemented: ![]() Notice all the fins that are on the heatsinks. The more fins the more surface area there is to transfer the heat from inside the heatsink into the cooler surrounding air. These are the most efficient heatsinks for memory that I’ve seen on any video card. Hercules has also opted to go for a Thermaltake Blue Orb. However, regular Blue Orbs have longer dissipation fins than the ones that are on the heatsink of the Prophet 3. Specifications Here are the specifications for the Prophet 3: Third Generation NVIDIA GeForce3 nFiniteFX GPU On Board 64MB -4ns DDR Memory LightSpeed Memory Architecture 3.2 billion AA samples per sec fill rate 7.36GB/sec memory bandwidth 64MB 4ns Memory onboard High-Performance Hardware Anti-Aliasing 350 MHz RAMDAC DVD software included AGP 4X/2X, AGP texturing and Fast Write supports Microsoft DirectX 8 and OpenGL 1.2 Optimizations and support Programmable Vertex Shader On-board DVI-I support Second Generation Integrated Transform and Lighting (T&L) Engines Drivers Support for Win 9X, Win ME, Win NT4, Win2K The specifications are standard GeForce3 features and pretty much every other GeForce3 card out there has these features. I suspect that the cooling on the Prophet 3 will make it one of the best overclocking GeForce3 boards on the market, but we’ll test this out later. |
