Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Drive (Platinum edition)

As with previous Sound Blaster 5.1 Platinum cards the Audigy Platinum comes with an Audigy drive which fits into a 5.25” bay within your case.  It adds a wealth of connections, truly making the card a versatile device, all gold plated except MIDI IN/OUT. The list goes on, with SPDIF In/Out, Optical In/Out, AUX In R/L, MIDI In/Out, Microphone, Line In 2/Microphone 2and last but not least the IEEE-1394 port. The infra-red port is there, too, as without it, the remote control would be of little use. The Audigy drive looks good, adding a sense of professionalism to your PC case. The beige color mixes well with other bay devices such as CD/DVD, FDD or ZIP drives and normal/aluminium cases alike.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Remote Control (Platinum edition)

As part of the Audigy Platinum package, a remote control is also included. The infra-red port on the Audigy drives serve the purpose of allowing wireless communication without the need to use the mouse or keyboard to change audio properties. The remote control is long and thin, yet very solid and doesn’t flex at all. The 31 individual buttons permit various commands which should satisfy most people's needs. Beige extends here too, with only the top half being black around the buttons; the buttons themselves are all a semi-dark grey.
