Gaming Performance 3DMark2000 ![]() ![]() These scores are very similar to what we expected. 3DMark game testing doesn’t really test anything other than what it was designed to test -- video cards. Since we know this, you must keep in mind that our video card limits these tests. We’ll have to wait until 3DMark2001 but I have a feeling that 2001 will concentrate on Video speed again. That’s okay though, we already know that the KT133A offers 10 to 15 percent in performance increases. Considering all this, I’d say that the most tangible increases occur in the A7V133’s ability to do RAID. Quake 3 Arena with 1.25y Point Release ![]() Unreal Tournament 4.32 ![]() Major improvements occur in Quake 3 at its fastest setting where we limit the chances of our video card becoming a benchmark bottleneck. We’re seeing a 20% improvement in 640x480. As resolution rises, the performance drops but still maintains at least a 15% gap. When I use Unreal Tournament to test video cards, I notice that I don’t get much frame rate increases from using faster and faster video cards. Here though, you see a good jump in speed with the difference in FSB. Although the increase isn’t as spectacular as Quake 3, it is an increase after all and still holds true to the 10% average performance increase. |
