Posted: September 24, 2000 Written by: Tuan "Solace" Nguyen Wrapping It All Up Performance: [ 8.8/10 ] The performance of the V7100T is stellar for its price. It’s just too bad the GeForce2 MX can’t beat a GeForce 256 DDR. Still, the performance/price ratio is great. Innovation: [ 8.5/10 ] ASUS did an excellent job on the drivers as well as implementing all the necessary video out connectors onto the board itself. The drivers are very extensive and remind me of the higher level V7700. Installation and Setup: [ 10/10 ] Jam it in, turn it on, slap the drivers in, and frag some buttocks. Perfect. Bundle: [ 8.0/10 ] ASUS includes full versions of Soldier of Fortune and Drakan. Also included is tweaking utilities and ASUS’s DVD player, which is just PowerDVD with Asus’ logo. Price: [ 9.0/10 ] Currently, the pricing for a V7100 goes at around $101US (found on www.pricewatch.com). That, friends, is true value with speed. Conclusion ASUS again has come up with an excellent product at an unbeatable price. I recommend users with a budget to definitely go for one of these babies. And hey, if you have multiple systems in your lair and they have AGP ports, fork out for these MX cards too! Great value. |
