Benchmarks (ZD Benchmarks cont.)

ZD WinBench 99 CPUM/FPUM

The final batch of ZD benchmarks concludes with integer and float performance. We see that the Thunderbirds really break loose here and pound the Pentium 4 repeatedly. Although the Pentium 4 has a deep pipeline, it suffers from poor math performance. To fully judge the scope of both processors, we’ll have to wait for a benchmark utility that fully tests SSE2.

Now some of you might be thinking that wouldn’t be fair but the future says AMD is licensing SSE2 for future cores. SSE2 will be part of both processors, and since that will be the case, it will be fair.
