It tends to favor a large memory bandwidth. Sine the ECS K7S5A came out with the most memory bandwidth, it is logical that it would come out on top in 3D Mark. Here we see the AK31 losing the performance crown to the ECS board falling behind by a measly 0.3%. Quake 3 Arena ![]() In Quake 3 at 640x480, we see that the CPU and memory subsystem is used more frequently then the video card, providing a more accurate test then running the benchmark at high-resolution. Quake 3 thrives on memory bandwidth, so that is why we see the K7S5A outperform the Shuttle board by a negligible 1.3 FPS. This isn’t a significant amount, and can’t even be noticed during game play. |
