Location is everything when we're talking about evolution. For example, people from the hottest parts of the world (ie: central Africa) evolved to have flatter, wider noses so as to dissipate heat better as it rises off of the hot ground. Likewise, people who live in colder, mountainous climates have larger and longer noses so that their body heat can help warm the air as it enters their nose into the lungs. <-- Coleman
That's a fact. Every little thing and characteristic is a result of what works best given the environment of the organism. The trait that offers the best advantage works out and is passed along. That's why I fear not for our planet. After humans are done meddling with genetics, it'll all return to what works best for the planet and all other species.
haha I was just using the nose as an easy example.. I took Anthropology a few years ago and it's just something I remembered from studying how people evolved. My point was that while selective breeding led to some family lines of the slaves to be naturally predisposed for strength/endurance etc... you must also consider that many slaves were also malnourished and/or never lived to be old enough to have kids or have an effect on the extremely slow process of evolution.
