Cant believe I haven't stumbled upon Tweak3D before, my first post Anyways, after multiple attempts to contact someone from NVidia I have come to the conclusion that they dont care about me, so I hope someone here does I am wondering if anyone here has ever used two "Quadro FX 4500 x2" units in one system before? NVidia does not support running two units in one system, but I am extremely interested in setting up a 5-8 Monitor setup that still delivers excellent performance in terms of 3D development. The legitimate method of running more than 4 monitors from one system seems to be via the Quadro Plex Model II, but that is a tad excessive for my intended use. So if anyone has ever attempted this, please share your experience!
I have never used that card before, but I have built systems with 4+ video cards. I think it would work like having 2 video cards in 1 system since the NVidia software controls those units like a single card. You can run multiple video cards in a single system, dunno about more than 2 in SLI though. Check out some motherboards like this: Newegg.com - Open Box: MSI P6N Diamond LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - OEM
Thanks alot Electric_Head, Yea I am not going to attempt to run them in SLI, the Quadro FX 4500 x2 is actually 2 GPU's in one card and I am fairly certain they wont support SLI between more than one unit. Ill take a look at the motherboard you posted in the meantime, if anyone has anything else to add I would greatly appreciate it!
