Deciding which theme is more aesthetically pleasing is up to each individual, not you. Some people prefer "new Facebook", others prefer the old layout. It's not about being against change, it's about wanting to use the layout that you feel is more productive and more to your liking. For me (and many others), the old theme just made a lot more sense. Tabbed Facebook? GTFO! Also, Facebook can be a rather powerful communication tool and (obviously) has a much larger userbase than T3D. It's a great way to stay in contact with friends from all over. It kicks email's ass anyday in regards to staying in touch. Just as long as you don't load your page up with Pirates vs Ninjas and Zombies shit (bumper stickers are okay ), it's a clean interface that gets right to the point. It's so much nicer seeing somebody's full name as opposed to .:*SexyAZN247*:. and the like.
Hey, I'm not arguing against Facebook I think it's leagues above and beyond Myspace and it definitely serves it's purpose. But really, whining and creating online petitions about a free website is a bit silly. ;-)
Maybe I really do hate change. I still use old Myspace (though I check it rarely) and I don't have any next gen consoles. Godammit, I'm stuck in a time warp.
