My birthday is coming up, and my girlfirend wants to get me something. I don't think we've been dating long enough (only a few days) to warrant her buying me something, even though we've hit it off really well. Here's my question, interweb: Is it rude to accept a gift at this point? She's pretty insistent on getting me one. This isn't really a serious problem, but I'd just like your input.
This usually means she wants you to buy a gift for her. How the reasoning goes from A to arrive at C like this is unknown, it's just been established by observation over the centuries.
In my opinion, if someone insists on doing something for you, you should let them. Do explain to her that you don't think it is necessary and that a card or a phone call would be just as good. However, it does present the unexplainable expectation from her that you will get her something at the next anniversary (only known to her btw).
Seriously. Based on this, I would just try to move the sexual portion of the relationship to the next level before the whole thing falls apart (id est get a piece of ass). If you're already having sex, then IDB, if already IDB, then basket job, etc.
Oh Lord. I'm not sure I've ever found anything quite so humourous. Yeah, but I don't think I'd make it sound quite that harsh. No, I'm not railing her. And I've been here a year and still don't know what IDB means. In Da Butt maybe?
I was seeing my wife for only 4 months, and she went and bought me a $500 digital camera for my bday in September. Don't refuse dude. Let her buy you something.
