DNC and Podesta email leaks reveal the DNC actively campaigned against him AND sabotaged Biden's bid. They've lost my vote for president over it all. I also maintain that Trump is really a plant by Hillary to both tear the RNC apart and be such an awful person that she looks good in comparison. Although the RNC was brilliant in getting Johnson the bid for the Libertarian party so they wouldn't be taken seriously and replace small government Republicans.

    /surprisingly not high atm

Would have been from the tasty CO craft beer I was enjoying while watching the Broncos reenact the McDaniel's era last night.

This isn't even corruption. It's what the Parties were set up and designed to do. Find the most electable candidates, and keep floor fights from leaving everyone suffering from blood loss just before the main election. The... overabundance... of candidates for this year's Republican Primary is the... primary... cause of all the candidates self destructing, so that the RNC was left with Trump, and an election disaster of epic proportions. Basically this was a fail on the part of the RNC to sabotage and campaign against the least electable Republicans, and now they've been Trumped by Trump.

I've often thought that Trump may be a plant for the Democrats, secretly being one himself, and using his Republicatory voice to expose the dark underbelly of the Republican Base. But when I look back at his history, I realize that Trump is just being Trump as Trump has always been, and all of this is just the end result of all the Koche Brothers decades long maneuvering to capture the State Legislatures one by one just before each State's redistricting occurs. All those "safe districts" for Republicans are basically composed of classic Trump Base style Republicans. Trump isn't leading his base, so much as he's just jumping in front of the surging hordes, and letting them push him where he want's to go...

I'd buy that IF she was the most electable candidate. Poll after poll after survey after survey showed she was not.

Yes, there's something going on in the background.
Ever wonder why she's urging people to vote early?
In these politics, you don't have to win votes, you just have to win the media...they will get the votes.
My biggest anxiety comes from wondering if this is all a show, a diversion. While we're watching what's in front, we don't know what's happening in the back.

If not her, then who? Bernie's too far left to win the general election. The Republican clown-car-crew that Trump tore to shreds? Maaaaaaybe Elizabeth Warren, but she's a relative newb (which is probably a PLUS)

[Sobbing] WHY OH WHY is it too much to ask for to have a reasonable, moderate, viable, CENTRIST PARTY in this country?*

Has the center that helped elect Reagan, Bush-1, and Bill Clinton, so depleted and deteriorated from all the hate-mongering, 24-hour-media-bubbling, gerrymandering bullshit our politics has become, that it can never recover?
I mean, it's clear the GOP has gone so far right they can't elect a president anymore, and a neo-Nazi baffoon like Trump is accused of being a Democrat plant. But FFS, the Dems are doing it now, too. I've heard accusations that HRC is a "closet moderate." WHAT THE FUCK, Dems??? They never seem to learn their lesson that every time they drift too far left the GOP moves to the center and steps on their friggin throats. *cough*McGovern/Mondale/Dukakis*cough*

Polls don't really mean anything; it's all in how you ask the question, and how you weight the responses for: A.) lies, and B.) sample bias. Both have become much more problematic in recent years.

The problem is that the old method of party control is broken down, thanks to a combination of modern Fox News style Footballified Political punditry, Social Media as modern Gossip channel, and the Koch Brothers decades long project of grabbing the reigns of gerrymandering. When the Party had control of itself, it could successfully find candidates who could win a GENERAL election, and weed out the far right/left elements. Now that we've delisted most of the methods the party had to control said party, the folks who get put up as candidates have to appeal to the base, which is great for primaries, and totally sux for the general election.

Hillary won the Democratic primaries, because by hook or by crook, the Democratic Party still had a modicum of control over it's party apparatus, so they could still weed out the "too left of center" candidates who are great for the liberal base of the party, but don't stand a chance in the general elections, where most independents who actually, like, vote, are center to center-right leaning. The Republicans however, have totally lost control over their party, and the current mess is the result.

That said, this is a truly horrible batch of candidates. Trump, Hillary, and whatzizname the Libertarian. The news coverage for the Green Party candidate couldn't fill a thimble, so I don't know much about her.

The whole mess as reported in the media is impossible to make a real sound judgement on.
The media leans mostly liberal, most education leans liberal, yet the real world forces eventually bring people to the center.
The power is left, life is center and the anti-left is on the right. It's a screwed up world we made for ourselves. By keeping the population deeply divided,
the power stays put where it is now. That being: the media, the right and the elites.
These are horrible conditions to have to vote in. The decision was made for us quite awhile ago. Any one person that would do an outstanding job as POTUS doesn't want the job.

I thought that too but a bunch of the old people in my building who are registered GOP and working the election machines for their party have said they would have voted for Bernie over Trump.

As it stands, there is no vote, only a lack of options. Is that what we've really come to as a nation?

It won't be until after the election, which almost makes it worse. They say now that Weiner had 650,000 emails on that laptop, which makes the FBI's "news" that much more dubious. Maybe the real news was that a top Clinton aid hadn't kicked this yahoo to the curb yet.

No one ever comments about it, but doesn't the sheer volume of all these emails bother anyone? Besides six years of Republican obstructionism, maybe the second biggest reason nothing ever gets done in Washington is that everyone is in front of their e-devices reading & writing emails all fackin' day. Also, isn't it common knowledge that the last place to put sensitive comms is in an email?

Nope. I'd be more concerned if they weren't using email that much.

Until Slack and Teams there hasn't been a more efficient way to communicate with dispersed groups other than via email. They can't use text because that's not secure and calling everyone takes far too long so email is the way to go.

Now contrast that with Fuckface Von Clownstick who dictates his tweets because he doesn't use computers and whose team regurgitates Russian disinformation...
