EAX (Environmental Audio) - Environment Mapping

EAX (Environmental Audio) - Creative Lab's proprietary 3D positional sound software and API. This technology is based on reverberation.

Engine - When the term "engine" is used on a 3D gaming site, it usually refers to the programming behind a game that controls how it runs. Some game engines are better than others in the way that they are coded which is seen through unique effects, colors, and all around graphics, or faster gameplay and framerates. Some popular engines include the Quake3 and Unreal Tournament engines.

Environment-Mapping - Accurate environment-mapped textures can reflect other textures and objects around it realistically. For example, if a chrome ship flies over a grass field, the chrome should reflect the grass from below on its surface like a mirror.
