So it's simple, blue_mouse and I are looking for a game to play together on our PCs.

She's a noob so FPSs and RTSs are out of the question, she'll get crushed. A good FPS on coop mode might be ok though.

Her geming abilities make the MMO genre more apealing. We were checking out Tabula Rasa, which comes out soon. Any of you tried the beta? Have any opinions on the game?

Please don't mention EVE as an option, I already read the thread and I'm considering that option. Thanks guys :)

I heard there's some game called World of Warcraft that's supposed to be pretty good.

Dude, don't. She'll leave you for a Level 70 douchebag.

Don't laugh, crazier things have happened.

Umm...if she's a complete noob I don't think EVE is really a good option, unless you start ahead of time and help her through the learning curve.

WoW is very easy for beginners, but she might not be into that type of game.

I haven't tried Tabula Rasa, but you may want to look at "2 Moons". My brother's heavily addicted to that game, so much so he just bought a second computer to run a second account. It's made by Akklaim I believe.

everquest 1 or 2, yea there old but it is a beginer's game and it has some more features and content than WoW, like housing, better raids, somewhat better graphics it think etc etc etc

Kain's already played WoW.. I doubt he'll play again.

Check out Warhammer Online whenever it comes out.. that looks like the most promising RPG to come out next.

    yeah, we both played WoW.

Thanks for the input. About Warhammer, it seems promising indeed, but we don't want to wait until the end of 2008 or some crap like that. I'll check the release schedule.

2 moons uh?? I'm gonna check!

If people really want to play WoW, we should setup some sort of T3D Private WoW server. We can set the level multipliers up, loot drops and percentages, free gear, etc.

    It would be fun :)

Sure. But one of the funs to play WoW is the difficulty to obtain your stuff. When everything is free, is more a matter of discovering the story.

And in the latest additions in WoW, the lore sucks (raids in ourlands and stuff). The raid quests aren't intertwined as well as the quests prior Onyxia / MC or maybe Naxx

We'd play WoW again, but I'm almost sure that I'd get bored really fast.

Warhammer is the next promising MMO.

Vanguard was a lot of fun, but no one played with me.

    What about Final Fantasy Online?

If you're into the lore, you would like Burning Crusade. They just added so many new things at once and screwed a lot of things up. Itemization and "epics" aren't what they once were, trust me. Any random Joe has half a character sheet of epic items now.

It's to the point now where they're reintroducing Naxxramas in Wrath of the Lich King, because they've realized the older "vanilla" content is what made WoW what it is.

    Naxx ftw.

Yes. I watched my buddy play it.

It didn't look fun at all.

I watched him run for literally twenty minutes.

    Fun.

(Man, what is it with me and hating on games lately?!)

Ehhh, running in mmos never really bothered me. Infact I kinda enjoyed it in EQ. It always made getting somewhere seem that much more of an achievment.
