replaced fuel filter, pcv, cleaned maf, both o2 sensors, did a smoke check for leaks still getting it.. going to change the spark plugs/wires for the hell of it, and i have extra injectors just in case, hopefully its not the fuel pump because i have to drop the whole tank.. car runs fine, and gets around 34mpg P0171: system running too lean, bank 1 Engine speed : 859 rpm Calculated load: 17.3% Coolant: 84C Short term fuel trim bank 1: 16.4% Long Term fuel trim bank 1: 12.5% Vehicle speed 0 Fuel system1: closed loop Fuel system2: N/A here is the freeze frame from my obd2 scanner, the code was pending for a while
what car is it? year make model..duh are there only 2 o2 sensors? did you clean or replace them? did you check the catalytic converter? are there more than one? ill bet there is no more honey comb in the catalytic converter on the bank 1 side and the 02 sensor on that bank is reading lean because of it.
2001 mitsubishi mirage, 1.8 with a 5 speed, i replaced both of them, they only have 2 o2 sensors, and the car has 2 cats (cali spec) pretty sure they're original, i'll pull it off and check
I'm gonna agree with 86mcss on this shit. While I wouldn't rule out anything 100%, generally when oxygen sensors, MAFs, EGR systems, bad injectors, etc, cause lean problems, they throw more specific-to-the-part codes... and you have none. I was majorly confused coming into this thread, thinking who the fuck gave you OBD2 code readout on a fucking Gremlin. How does the car run? Doesn't feel sluggish? No red hot exhaust after you drive the car?
took off both cats, honey comb is fine, new exhuast gaskets, new exhaust mani gasket got a borrowed MAF, got my injectors cleaned, boost test, smoke test new icv car runs great, getting 34 mpg average i scanned it with my obd2 and thats the freezeframe the only one weird thing i noticed is my long term fuel trim is constantly at 12.5, no matter what, even when the car is off and the key is set to ACC
