Really a cool race because it has cars of different classes sharing a track for 24 hours, so you'll see fast cars overtaken by crazy faster cars constantly. Main stream: http://live.lemans-tv.com/ You can change the channel / team you're watching. Alt link: The stream I'm watching: http://stream.speedtv.com/corvette The Corvette stream has multiple cameras, you can watch pit stops and there's no audio commentary, just racing. Kinda gets old hearing the Corvette but it's cool!
The Delta Wing thing was crashed into and eventually had to retire. There was a stream of its garage too. Here's the pit stop: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/23356694
... I guess he must have been tired... Goofhumor strikes again! Wait, in Europe, wouldn't it be tyre instead of tire? Woah! Watched vid. Amazing he landed right side up after that mid-air flip!
Has anybody heard about "24 Hours of Lemons?" I was thinking about participating in it, but wouldn't because if you "win" the drawing at the end (heard it was a drawing but maybe it has to do with the race, not sure), they take your car and ruin it. No way would I let them destroy my car, even if it was only a $500 + parts investment. I'd drive off, fuck that.
Yep I've helped a team before, haven't done any driving yet. I'll have to do it soon though. It was fun! I think the crushing-car thing... they let you spend some time taking all the parts you want off of it before they crush it. Also they penalized the "cheater" guys at the event I went to.. also the car, despite being "crushed" still completed the race. They just bullied it around with a bulldozer.
So... are you able to just drive off if they pick your car to get crushed? I wouldn't want to watch all my hard work go to waste like that. I'd do anything I could do to get out of that. Hell, even if the car is destroyed during the race, you can still take your parts off and scrap it. I would have to assume they don't give you any money for crushing the car. If they did, it wouldn't be a big deal.
