Beer wood stain!? Updating my kitchen and other random projects This is how my kitchen looked before...just a plain jane kitchen. I will be adding granite counter tops and new appliances to give the kitchen a more up to date look and will be darkening the color of the cabinets. I wanted to find the easiest way in the world to stain my kitchen cabinets. I asked around for advise and checked all the local cabinet shops and everyone's answer was the same. I would have to sand the sealer off my cabinets and re-stain them and then put another sealer on them. I have had the pleasure of doing this once before on my mothers kitchen and it turned out to be a month project...sanding kitchen cabinets sucks ass. I then turned to my friend google and started searching for an easy way to stain kitchen cabinets and came across this video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66kXYpmZaPg I then searched for reviews on this beer wood stain and came up empty handed...no one has really tried out this product...me being the lazy ass I am decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and try this product out so as to avoid days of tedious sanding. When I received the product I did a test run obviously and was happy with what I had seen. So I went ahead and removed all cabinet doors and started staining them. I then went ahead and started staining the cabinets themselves. At this point I ran out of the beer wood stain product and had to place another order to finish the kitchen off. After a day of drying I took a damp cloth and wiped off the excess film. They color is uneven because I ran out of product but I will even everything out once my new order comes in. The cabinets look "dull" right now because I have yet to apply the new finish which will polish/gloss them up nicely. But I am extremely happy with this product and anyone interested in re-staining their cabinets an easy cost affective way should look into this beer wood stain product. There is absolutely no sanding involved! I went with the "dark chocolate" color which will match all my furniture but they do have many other colors to choose from... http://www.solvingconcreteproblems.com/beerwoodstainsales.htm I will be posting more picture once I finish and apply the new sealer/finish.
Well I finished the cabinets and they came out great! Most of you do not realize whats involved with staining previous sealed wood and let me tell you the shit is not fun or an easy job. This product I used is a gift from the heavens!
While I was at it I also made an RV parking opening on the side of the house to be able to get cars to the shop in my back yard Before After
I'm amazed at those cabinets. Who'da thunk! I can personally verify that stripping cabinets is a 11/10 on the ass ache scale.
I would except with the gas prices down there I could only afford the "hoof-n-toe/thumbs-up express" as a means of transport. I heard on the ABC evening news that gas was 4.89 in Bakersfield. Any truth to that?
Thanks for the kind words every one. If any of you decide to try this let me know and I will write a detailed how to. Its not difficult at all and a nice husband wife project I have been paying $4.00 for regular...not $4.80 yet see you then
holding up great. still look as good as the day i first did them. dont be afraid to look around the site. we have lots of talented people here with lots of life experience.
