So i finally upgraded my computer
    I have an i5 2500k, 8 gigs of ddr3 1600 ram, 6850
    not important.. anyways

How do i make it so I can watch my movies/youtube/etc on my tv? (i have the hdmi cable and it reaches fine and identifys fine)
and how do i make it so it automatically detects audio input to the hdmi as well? (I do have an old soundcard)

is it even possible with 1 computer besides unplugging the hdmi and changing the default audio?

AMD drivers comes with HDMI drivers for the card. If every thing is installed properly all you should have to do is, go to your sound setting and see what are the default set at. You should be able to port sound to AMD HDMI out easily. By making that a default.
