I was thinking about multiple monitor layouts the other day at work where they run an 8 monitor system in the Ops Center. At home I've run dual monitors for years and always made my primary display the one on the left, which is currently my iMac. However, currently this means that due to a printer being crammed onto my desk too, that the primary display is on the far left corner of my desk at an angle. I'm thinking about flipping it but I'm a creature of habit. So, how do you have stuff arranged on your desk?
At home I have one 22" screen. Does me fine. At the office, I have my notebook and a 19" LCD connected to it, so I can move stuff around.
Until recently: 2x 24" monitors with the primary one in front of me and the secondary to the left. Currently: 3x 24" with the primary in the middle (wanted to try Eyefinity )
Dual 17s with the primary on the left. It's been that way for 6 years, I don't think it would be very easy to change
Duals with primary on left. Soon to be triple on ergotrons and my 47" LCD on my wall above them (4th).
I only have one monitor... per computer. I have two computers. The monitor for the one I use primarily for gaming, media, etc is on the left. The monitor for the one I use for internet browsing, chatting, etc is on the right.
quad monitors, primary is 24" widescreen mid right, then a 21" on each side. 32" lcd on the far left.
Dual monitors: primary on left. Once i save some more cash i want to upgrade my desktop so I can have sli and have my third 42" plasma plugged into my desktop, right now its just hanging on the wall
i need to grab another acer lcd before it becomes discontinued.. then i'll never be able to find a matching monitor. in the lcd market, they come and go like crazy, they become discontinued after a couple months.. like wtf.
Currently just a 42" TV, but when the girl and I move in then I'm gonna get a second 22" to go with hers and KVM both our PCs into a dual 22" setup, primary on left I'd imagine. .....You can do that, right? KVM into dual/triple screens?
Single 22"s both at home and work. Going to be replacing the home one with a 32" shortly, but will likely remain single screen. In cinematic terms you can only look at one screen at a time. And beyond 32" you're just going to scoot back in order to keep everything within your field of vision. Same reason I'm only rocking a 7' screen in my theater. I started to go down that road and it would have involved moving my seating back, which made no sense to me.
I gotta have my two main monitors. The big third one is just for TV, gaming or previewing my video projects (mostly TV while I'm at the PC to be honest). Keeps me from having to crank my neck 120 degrees to glance over. The 47" @1080 is surprisingly clear and crisp from only 30" or so away. *shrugs*
