Fond memories of this Whitney, who has been dead for a long, long time...
My earliest memories of going places in the car involve hearing a lot of Whitney Houston on the radio. Little Nidex, just a few years old, riding in the shit-brown '86 Ford Taurus, listening to 100.3 with my mom. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WILV Funny thing is, in the '80s and '90s it was a pop station... now it's "Rewind to '80s and '90s hits"... lol
Since I'm a recovering addict I will not make any jokes about something this serious. I hope she has found the peace she was looking for.
Yes, being in recovery, we should know the error of taking a long term sollutions to short term problems. Unfortunately, jails institutions or death are the outcomes to most (85-95%) addict's lives. Not many are able to get saved, not many at all. Then there's the societal stigma that addiction is all just one big lazy man's way out of dealing with reality. It makes them feel better about themselves. Nobody wants to look into the causes and conditions that led to addictive behaviors in the first place.
If I hear the 10 second clip of "IIIIIIIIIIIIII will always love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu and I will alllllllllwaaaaaaayyyyyyyysss..." one more time I'm going to kick a baby. She DID have other songs, you know. Fucking media.
not a single fuck given, beautiful woman, but i honestly never liked her music i was a venessa williams/mariah carey/paula abdul/en vogue/etc etc fan!!
She was a beautiful woman with a great voice and talent. Was'nt my type of music either, but her death was still a horrible waste.
ROFL! Good one... But yeah, I'm with Torx. Once I hit 14 I outgrew Whitney's music, and she became just another celebrity burnout. And from what little I saw of her reality show she looked like a shitty person/mother anyway. Good riddance.
