Hello! I figured I might as well start a new thread to catch up with you guys faster! I feel really out of the loop so I hope to hear from everyone =]

So thing's I've done since I was on here last:
Finished Boot Camp (graduated last August)
    Graduated Nuke A school (February)
Became a Petty Officer 3rd Class (turd class lol)
Got Engaged (nuke-cest >.< lol in February)
    Haven't been masted.
Started Power school. (April I think...)
    Haven't failed out. Yet.

Pretty much just learning and trying not to kill fooooools around here. lol
Oh yeah, I'm in South Carolina. I don't like humidity. Bleh.
And if everything works out I'll graduate from power school in September.

Guessing you're living in Charleston, SC? That place is awesome. So you got engaged to another guy in Nuke school or something? Guessing things didn't work out with that last guy you were with?

For me.. I'm in the process of packing up all my things and moving to New York. Going to be doing a lot of traveling this summer for work. I just got back from Portland, ME on Wednesday and I head off to Vegas for 5 days on Monday. The week after that I fly to Seattle for 5 days. For the rest of the summer I'll pretty much be living out of hotels. Should be interesting.

Nuke-on-Nuke love isn't something to be meddled with! I have seen a few relationships from the pipeline succeed, but well over 75% won't. I recommend that you guys wait until you both get stationed on your first commands, and go through at least one deployment before you tie the knot. Just plan on living together through Prototype and see how things go. You guys would actually make more money doing this, as you would both receive BAH whereas if you get married only one of you will. This life is incredibly hectic when you first get to your commands, and it is incredibly stressful on relationships. I have seen many really good relationships fail at the hands of the Nuke lifestyle.

But, congratulations on getting through this far into the pipeline! It's a tough life, but someone has to do it. And I wouldn't trust anyone else to do this job more than another member of the forum!

Haven't seen you around here in a while Yadida, glad to see that all of the plans you had talked about previously panned out for you. I'd imagine coming from California, that the heat and culture adjustment of moving to South Carolina would take some getting used to. I wish the best for you and hope that everything continues to work out for you.

Coleman... I'm jealous of you. I'd like to spend the summer traveling the country and living in hotels, unfortunately my current financial status isn't going to allow that. Not to mention I have to find a co-op job for school this summer so I can have my degree in December. I have been putting money away to move though, so I'm hoping by my birthday next year (June 1st) that I'll have a decent place (with a garage) in a decent neighborhood with my girl and her daughter. Seems that garage spaces are hard to come by in the areas I've been looking for apartments/house rentals, but I'm sure if I look enough I'll be able to find one for what I'm willing to pay. After I receive my degree I will hopefully be able to start an actual career, get settled in and comfortable, then begin to plan for the future and another kid.

Nice to get an update, glad to hear things are going so well.

I'm living on a permaculture farm in South Africa right now, it's pretty sweet... not sure what I'm doing after my visa expires though.

Oh, and Coleman if I was in Seattle, I'd take you to do something crazy, bummer :p

haha thanks man. We're gonna go crazy at Pike Place Market for the Cheese Festival on the 19th. Beyond that I'm just trying to hit up some great restaurants and relax between working.

Don't you have to leave the country when your visa expires...? You planning on going rogue and living on the run from the man?

LOL sorry you missed the festival.

Nah, the guy from before was a cool person to have met but not someone I would want to spend the rest of my life with.

We've heard all the negative things about being with another nuke, but it's not enough to split us up. We know a lot of people in our class that got married recently and of course not every single one has gone according to plan... There were a couple of kids that dated for a few weeks (i'm being generous) and got married and divorced in the same amount of time that they dated. Another guy in my section and his wife got married when we were on T-track before power school. She is getting sent somewhere to be a seabee. Dunno if it's because she can't pass a PRT or what... it sucks because the guy is pretty nice.

But yeah, there's no talking me out of this one =] He's the best and treats me so well. He's my best friend and I'm going to be his wife. We aren't rushing, no date set yet but it's going to happen. One of our teachers from A school married a nuke so we see that they don't get to see each other often yet, but they are working it out.

To you guys traveling, be safe! Hope you have a lot of fun and don't forget to share stories since there isn't much excitement in my day to day life hehe

I don't go out to eat much so I can't recommend anything in that department, but if the weather is nice go to Gas Works Park and relax on kite hill, go to Kerry Park for the best view of Seattle and go to Discovery Park for a nice walk in the forest.

I mean I don't know where I'm going next. I will certainly leave SA, it's a question of do I go to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe or.....?
