Is there really anything bad about energy drinks...? Besides of course the obvious that there's a lot of caffeine? I eliminated Soda from my diet, pretty much completely and have been off of it for 2+ weeks and don't plan on going back. However, in the morning i'm extremely tired and I dont like the taste of coffee and have been drinking rock stars sugar free (no carb if it's available, i think it tastes better). I read somewhere online that you shouldn't drink more then 400mg of caffeine, i only drink one a day in the morning to wake me up and it has 160mg (with 2 servings). Is it really that bad for you...? If you drink energy drinks what do you drink?
COFFEE!!! :smoke: The caffeine and sugar are the two things in energy drinks that are supposedly bad for you. Diet Rock Star isn't bad though, and it eliminates half of the bad stuff. EDIT: How about tea? Green in particular is good for you.
I'd drink tea if it gets you going like rock stars do... I usually drink mine over an hour - hour and a half period
Tea and water, I haven't had a caffeinated drink in over a year, around the time I started losing all the weight. Some guy I work with buys an energy drink every morning at like 8 am... Sugar-free or not, there are better alternatives.
I am a Rock Star fiend. I drink the purple one, not sure what flavour that denotes. Annoying thing is I become spotty as hell if I binge on it for too long. Usually 1 can started at the beginning of work will last me until lunch. I've just come off a 6 day binge (1 a day qualifies as a binge) and my skin looks like shit so I'm laying off for awhile. The stuff tastes sooooo good and I get a good buzz off it, but it's probably not worth being spotty over a drink.
Just coffee for me. Down here the popular thing is cuban coffee... which is essentially an expresso to the 10th power. Just had about 3 shots (you have to drink it in small quantities). About 5 years ago, I worked at an internet cafe and we sold this energy drink by Nelly (the rapper) called Pimp Juice.
I drink loose leaf tea at work. Usually either Earl Grey Bravo or English Breakfast from Adagio.com. I drank two cups of coffee the first day back from Christmas break and felt like I'd injected speed directly into my heart. It was an odd feeling and not one I enjoyed at all. If I have to make the 3.5 hour drive to my hometown I will down a sugar free Red Bull just as I'm hitting the road but that's rare.
I used to drink a LOT of energy drinks about a year ago or so. Then I gave up on them because they stopped working. Now...I just try living without artificial highs. I mean...heck...Coke Zero (which I do drink) is caffeine and sugar free, with zero calories, and I'm trying to cut down on that now.
Well actually its a pretty funny story I saw this movie "Tropic Thunder" and about a month later I walk into a 7 -11 and see the energy drink "Booty Sweat" From that movie, so i buy it ofcourse, and it was amazing!! So thats all I drink now
I have a 6 pack of this in the cellar right now. It's gonna be worth something some day! For me, just coffee, tea and water. The first 2 in moderation, of course
Yeah because they only sell them in 4 packs now :/ I suggest you buy a 4 pack and drink it. Immediately. It's actually pretty good if you mix it half and half with Mickey's. After the 5th glass it's fun to figure out the pictograms under the mickey caps.
Sorry, it is a 4 pack. I'm a crackhead. I was referring to the fact that they are soon pulling it off the market. That's why it will be worth something!
Water. I'm a morning person so I don't need a pickmeup or anything and I hate the thought of being dependent on caffeine or bad sugar to keep my energy level up
I try to avoid “surgar free” as much as I can. In the research I’ve done I’ve found artificial sweeteners to be some pretty nasty stuff. I drink black tea in the mornings. Celestial has some really tasty stuff, I enjoy Morning thunder or fastlane myself.
Does your black tea have caffeine? I need a wakemeup like Dustin was saying, I dont get my 8 hours usually, if im even 30 minutes below, i'm F'n tired in the morning
This shit is bad for you. The best is to get exercise and a good sleep hygiene to feel better in the morning. Plus, the shitty mood in the morning could be related to cafeine withdrawal, depending on your resistance/intake Plus, just to mention it, "Cafeinism" now accompany alcoholism as an emerging trouble. When you drink coffee, you can go overboard, but to a certain limit, since your stomach can only hold a certain amount. With some drinks equalling 2-4 coffees per small can, your intake can skyrocket, hence the new cafein related symptoms. So, if you drink this shit moderately, risks aren't too bad, but it's still packed with cafeine. As for the original question, I usually choose "Guru" if I want some energy drinks. I buy them a few times per summer, when I pull all nighters at outside activities in the forest.
