Recently... 1) Pulled the D15B2 with the Y8 head out of the light blue 4 door EF Civic sitting outside the garage. Scrapped the shell and the catalytic converter. Going to sell the motor/VTEC swap and other parts from it (coilovers, exhaust) on Craigslist. Between my cousin and I, there are a few too many cars sitting outside of the garage, and the neighbors/city are getting pissed off; the EF Civic has been sitting there forever and we weren't going to do anything with it, so it's good that it is gone. 2) Cylinder 1 and cylinder 3 misfire on a '97 Impreza Outback 2.2. Was getting spark, fuel, so I went to check the compression and voila! Low. Told the broad that it needed a timing belt, so knocked that out today, along with the water pump. One of the easiest timing belts EVARRR, removed radiator (and hoses, trans lines), took the crank pulley off, took the plastic timing covers off, held the tensioner back, slid the belt off, changed the water pump, put the timing belt back on, covers on, crank pulley on, radiator back in... and done! 3) Another soccer mom brought her '04 Pilot over for me to look at, she thought it needed brakes. Checked all 4, rotors are good still, pads are about halfway gone, drove it and it felt loose in the front end. Took a look, noticed that the lower control arm bushings on both sides are torn. You can't buy just the bushing and press it in, need to buy the whole control arm... $315 a piece from Honda... holy shit! Ended up ordering them from Napa for $149 a piece, they come in tomorrow, so that's what I'll be doing in the morning. A grand total of 6 bolts to remove for both sides, so should be another easy $200 or so, but I'll probably charge her a little less than that because she's the landlord's bitch (one of them at least). And that's all for the past 2 days or so... have an '06 Corolla coming over tomorrow for an unknown problem. The Snap-On OBD2 scanner we have only has the software updated until 2004, so if it has any manufacturer specific codes hopefully they'll still show up. Anybody else been busy lately?!
