All excellent books, I just wish Mr Martin would hurry up and finish A Dance With Dragons! Dune is superb, I'm surprised you were able to put it down for a week I've just finished re-reading a few books by John Brunner; Stand on Zanzibar, The Sheep Look Up and The Jagged Orbit, they're all good. Also Look to Windward by Iain M. Banks (all his Culture novels are fantastic!)
Right now I'm hooked on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. I get the feeling I'll finish that today.

I liked Neverwhere, even though it was originally a teleplay. American Gods is sooo much better though (but don't bother with Anansi Boys, it was boring) I've really been meaning to read Snowcrash, but it's not available at my library, I oughta just buy the damn thing lol. Right now I'm reading Catch-22 for the 5th time. I think it's probably my favorite novel of all time.
I really want to get to that soon. This one really gave me trouble. It wasn't funny to me like I was hoping it would be. I finished it because I was too stubborn to admit I wasn't enjoying myself. Disliking it definitely puts me in the minority.

I read flying and comp mags more than books lately. I just got my first issue of WIRED and see an article about Jimmy Fallon and another about how open source and the internet are the new "Socialism." The books I'm trying to read are "The Sirens of Titan" by Kurt Vonnegut and the Stephen Colbert book, "I am America (and So Can You!)". Books I'd recommend are "What's the Matter with Kansas?" by Thomas Frank and a couple books by sci-fi scribe Greg Egan, "Permutation City" and "Quarantine".
I just started reading Carl Sagan's Cosmos again. And The Rich Get Richer, the Poor Get Prison. Recommended by a friend.
1453. I just finished it. It's a pretty epic ass book about the fall of Constantinople. The Battle That Stopped Rome. An epic book that I used for as source for a paper on the battle for Teutorburg forest. I never actually read through it. I'm going to starting tomorrow.
Finished Do androids dream. Soooo much better than the movie. Currently reading Martian Time Slip now.... Having trouble getting out of fiction to read my other books.
I'm reading about the Cold War in history -_- actually, it's really interesting. Since it's still the school year I just read manga randomly. During the summer or breaks in general is when I read for real. I read The Handmaid's Tale, which was good. I'm planning on finishing A Scanner Darkly eventually, and I'll admit to reading the Twilight series... I'm still in the 4th book.
This is the last book I read, and it was freakin' awesome Right up there with The Moon is a Harsh Mitress and Stranger in a Strange Land in terms of my favourite Heinlein novels. Not reading anything right now though.

I'm about halfway through the first book of the Codex Alera! I started this series when I ran out of Dresden books to read. How are you liking the Alera books so far?
One of my favorites, although I do prefer Pale Blue Dot. Both are "stellar", though Currently inching my way through Comédias Brasileiras de Verão and Perfecting Sound Forever: An Aural History of Recorded Music. The former is a fairly easy read, but the latter is taking forever because I'm so swamped with school related readings at the moment. Hopefully I can finish both during this coming break.
