Interesting, but pretty speculative. Buy yeah, a t-rex with opposable thumbs and a big brain would be trouble for the first astronauts out of the hatch.
On some far-off planet, right about now, there is a reptilian exobiologist saying, "You know on some far-off planet, right about now, there is a mammalian exobiologist with a big intelligent brain and opposable thumbs who evolved from those annoying little fackin' tree shrews because the analog to our species had been wiped out by an asteroid strike.
