I think what Smersh was looking for was just "Midwest"; which is Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri (arguably). Some places/people classify Kansas, Nebraska, Dakotas, as Midwest, but they are topographically and climatically different than the "East North Central Midwest", therefore I always refer to them as "Great Plains States"
I put Northeast... but then got confused by the whole Mid-Atlantic thing being there. I'm pretty sure I count as both. Maybe? In any case, I'm from New York.
That's Northeast... Mid-Atlantic is like Maryland, Virginia, DC, Delaware, maybe North Carolina but that's kinda pushing it...
It's okay. You'll all like your stay here in the Northwest. Just today on my way home from the movies I got stuck downtown watching about 10,000 naked people ride by on bikes. 50 minutes of naked people giving high fives.
Haha, fucking Portlandia. Also, I always think the Midwest is like Kansas and Nebraska, hell Colorado is even Midwest east of the Front Range, IMO. However, I guess everyone else considers Michigan and Ohio and all that to be the (very off-centered) Midwest, so I went by Wikipedia/Census designations. *shrug*
Denver to me feels half-Midwestern, half-Mountain West... at least this is my observation. The architecture and home styles resemble Midwestern "rust belt" architecture/houses for the most part, but it has the feel of the West ingrained into it.
Pretty much. It's still a cowtown in so many ways and I'd argue the Californians and New Yorkers moving here are the cause of the influx if any culture, IMHO.
Pshh. When we had our get together back in 2005, I recall offering to pick you up in Springfield. I picked up Hans in Crystal Lake, as well as some other dude (don't remember his username, doesn't post here anymore) in Janesville. That was a pretty good offer, ivanolo! I was willing to drive 6 hours to get your ass (no homo) . But I am down for another Midwest get together. Now that we're all in our 20s we could have a bar crawl or something, either in Milwaukee or Chicago, depending where most people would be coming from. If we did Milwaukee, we could go down to Water Street, and everybody pitch in for a room or two at the Pfister where we could hold the afterparty and do some LAN gaming or whatever, or just enjoy the hotel services because it's a nice ass place. If we did Chicago, we could do a bar crawl at Rush/Division, Milwaukee/Damen/North (Wicker Park... hipsters!), Wrigleyville (don't like this one though, drunken Cubs fans are wild annoying), and get a suite or two at the Fairmont (stayed there before, very nice). Also it has roof access at the 42nd floor for some views/fun on the roof, lol. Or any other half decent hotel for that matter. Or we could skip the hotel idea completely and have it at somebody's place, if someone would be willing to host. I personally think Chicago would be better for our get-together as it provides many more options, and aside from the Wisconsin crew (me, Penz, Miller), everyone else I can think of are from Chicagoland (ivanolo, ThatHideousStrength)... but we'd have to take a poll. I'm getting ahead of myself and rambling here, but just throwing ideas out there. MSP probably wouldn't be down for driving to Chicago so I'm automatically ruling him out. (Just kidding MSP, we'd love to have you at the GTG)
I might be up for flying out to a meet-up, depending on when/where it is. I need to recover from this trip financially, though, which could take a while! ~Will Courtier~
Psh, the two largest groups are in NorCal/Pac-NorWest and Upper Mid-Central Eastern Lower Midwest, we should meet in the middle... Denver!
That was a sweet deal! I should've gone for it... Now that I live closer to the city and have reliable transportation, meeting should be a breeze. I'd be down for going to the Pacific NW... but I wouldn't want to abandon my Midwest peeps.

I'm in the Upper Lower Mid Left Vaginal Central Valley Region as often as possible. Unfortunately I don't live there.
