I fondly remember these, and I love that guy's voice. Anybody know his name? Sorta sounds like Orson Wells.

I always tried to use the part about billiards but it's easier in theory. :(

I would really watch stuff like that, even now. Makes all the cartoons on today look like garbage. I think its awesome that they targeted such advanced concepts to little kids. Way cool.

Oh my GOD! Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land....I watched that like 20 times in school. I think about it any time I play pool. Unfortunately, although I absorbed the theory of what to do I'm still never able to execute it. I'm not very good at pool :(

I remember those. Also, the narrator is Paul Frees. You know, the Haunted Mansion guy.

Those really were the days. One has to remember, we didn't have all the media choices competing for ad dollars that is prevailent today. That, and the need to educate our young people was paramount and concidered national security. WTF happened?

I think the great slide started when the slide rule was replaced with the electronic calculator! Actually, I think Robert Heinlein documented the slide in edumacation, which started, ironically enough, with requirement for an edumacation degree, obtained by catering to the unfounded opinions of the edumacation professors.

Thanks grouchy conservative pundits, for posting the essay in question... :D

I saw a movie the other night called Burn, Witch, Burn! in which Paul Frees had a great narration at the beginning. He spoke magical incantations to protect the movie goers from the evil spells contained in the film! I love that kinda shtick...
