Credit Card. As soon as my dad tells me it's okay to submit them, he has some thing that may effect my taxes...

I got a grand total of $1500 back from both 2007 and 2008. My ex-wife skipped on me for 2007, and decided to file with her new husband without telling me for that year. So, my taxes got rejected, and I had to refile. Couldn't reach her, so didn't get them filed until this year. I had to file married but separate, and wound up owing $190 to federal. Plus it cost me $150 to file for 2007, and ~$300 to file for 2008. So, I wound up with somewhere close to $850 in the end.

It all went to buying new uniforms (just switched over to new digital camouflage), made a $400 payment to my credit card, and basically enjoyed myself this past week. Went to a few concerts (Trivium, Sinn, Cradle of Filth, Septic Flesh, Satyricon, going to see a Led Zeppelin cover band this Friday).

It feels good. I've paid down my credit card from $10,500 down to <$8500 in only 8 months. All of my bills are in the green, no worries with money. Life is good. :D

Paid off a credit card, bought a Rebel XS, and debating throwing some of it into a terabyte media drive.

I owe just under $8500. My ex-wife ran up a lot of debt before we got divorced....

But I am now paying it down, rather than accumulating more.

Qft. I owe 4260 to be exact and I hate it. I am hopefully working paying it all off by the end of the year. Even though my minimum payment is 96.00$ my minimum payment is 300 and during the summer when I can work full time is when I'm putting like 1k towards it a month for the three months I'm off of school.

Just the one that came with the kit. I figured I'll pick a nice telephoto up in the future to own and rent a few lenses when I take my excursion up to Alaska.

Yup, they most definitely can. But, I've been making headway over the last year. I was living on the credit card for a while, fighting to get my bills paid off. Was paying ~$1500 per month in rent, plus getting caught up on bills on my own. Then had a $1600 bill just to move out due to damages to the home from when I was gone (floors ruined, carpets ruined, etc...). Most definitely wasn't a good time in my life.

But, I'm over that now. Life is good. :D

ya women can certainly suck up the bills. you got off easy at 10k for your divorce. I was probably pushing like $40k and my credit score shot to the low 500s. not to mention, since my credit is so bad, it's made my auto insurance rate suck, among many other things. i've got it almost all paid off. however my parents paid off a good portion of it so i could start my life again. i still have to pay them back though at some point. Pretty much the only thing I have left now is about a $1000 worth of debt, plus my stupid car. My credit score is now over 600 but I still have a while to go...

auto insurance should have nothing to do with credit.
theyre a bigger fraud that credit card companies.

thats good though youve been getting that score up to 600, takes time.

that's not true at all. almost every single one of them base it on your credit score. if they didn't, then I would have low cost as I have no tickets and no accidents at all on my record. all the insurance companies have even told me flat out that they base their premiums off your credit and told me that's why mine was so high.

they have said that "statistics" prove that people with worse credit are more angry so they drive like crazy people. of course, it's the opposite for me. I drive the exact speed limit everywhere I go and obey all traffic laws like it's going out of style. I pretty much always have. I certainly wouldn't want a ticket so my premium would be even higher lol. It's always pissed me off as I know friends that have several tickets and accidents and have paid less for their insurance on a similar vehicle than me but because they have good credit, they pay quite a bit less. Luckily that I'm 25 now, cost has gone down quite a bit.

    Wait, what?

And 600 shouldnt be that bad unless you have royally fucked up. I had a low 400ish at the end of HS if i remember right (my sister ran up a shitload of bills in my name), and I am at 710 now (about 4 years out. I was actually almost to 800, but I just got 2 big-ish loans for my POS car and motorcycle)

This is a good thread on this credit score issue:

Which auto insurance companies DON'T use a credit score when deciding rates?

Not sure how true that is but it is probably to your benefit chainblade to find out which insurance company does not use a credit score as a factor.

ya I know some don't but I know allstate ended up being quite a bit more for me anyways. Right now I'm through USAA and pay $100 a month for a 2007 Kia Optima on full coverage and a 2000 VW Jetta on liability.

I pay like $520 for 6 months right now for my insurance. Full coverage on the GTO, and liability on my 1992 Isuzu Trooper. Go go Geico!
