A New York Supermarket is trying to attract male customers by making things easy. Notice the toiletries and condoms on the top shelf. There's a larger picture in the article that shows bottled water at the bottom of the shelf. Real men drink bottled water? (Brita FTW!!) Regardless, that should be Jack Daniels down there.

If that's an aisle I'm guessing that's more regular market than supermarket.

Also, if you're that intimidated about going to an actual grocery store with decent food choices just go to 7-11. Same shit as this store and they've got slushies.

Yeah, that isn't an aisle for men, it's an aisle for boys. I rock the grocery store, clip coupons, the whole bit. You should see my pantry, pork chops to tofu...

yeah, and it was also a blasphemous sucker too. ;)
You hang venison and any meat for that matter, to age it and cool the meat evenly. Then it also facilitates ripping the hide off as well as quartering.

Do you find it messy to clean ? I've wanted to get into hunting for some time, I've just been skidish about cleaning/handling the thing once its dead.

You get used to field dressing game, it's just like cleaning fish, only bigger ;).
My setup isn't anything special. It's the way a lot of people live here. More and more are
putting priority on self sustainability. It's easy to tell the real self sustainers from the hobby wannabees.
I've always had a tough time justifying paying other people to do something I could learn to do myself.
The journey is more important than the destination.

The garden gets bigger every year. I believe I'm at my physical limits of being able to take care of it at it's present size though.

What percentage do you think you're using yourself versus what you sell? And what all do you usually buy to supplement diet wise?

Also, why haven't you grown any hops? You're already growing one vice!

Hops grow wild here ;). I do not sell my produce. I supply all the produce for three adults and put away enough until next year.
All told, I'm able to provide 75-80% of my own food. It's not really cheaper than store bought when you concider time and effort.
But it sure is healthier and nobody is in control of supply or quality but me. Being able to control suppy/yield means there are no unexpected
price hikes due to shortages for me. IE: It costs me 5 cents to get an ear of corn.....try finding those prices at safeway.
