    Hmm.

I got Vista, because it was only $50, and I figured I'd end up installing it once I got a better computer, but it seems 7 is the obvious path. Not sure when I'll actually build a new computer (1.6GHZ Athlon, 1GB RAM!!) but I guess there is no reason to install Vista...

so... do I buy 7 on this deal???

    yes, you should.

Darktides, you have to be an employee at a store to get that deal right?

I would. I've been using the 64bit version for 24 hours and it's way faster than vista ever was.

Edit: forgot to mention that my boss is using it on his ~4 yr old laptop and has no complaints.

I was gonna say this yesterday but I think the reason this "deal" is out may have something to do with Apple's OS 10.6 update selling to anyone for $29. (64 bit update, can clean install, etc)....

I just got my copy of Ultimate from ExpertZone. I do work in a valid retail location, however. And I had to fax them my paystub.

Just got a copy of Windows 7 Professional through MSDNAA at school. Gonna load it up on VMware to make sure it's an RTM. If anything I'll load it on my desktop and buy Ultimate for my laptop...or the other way around.

    Sweet!

    Compare editions

So, 'Home Premium' doesn't even have Windows XP Mode? That blows.

    And I don't even have a DX9 graphics card :p

so i took all the tests and whatnot for the 10 dollar offer. i just said i still worked for my old job at best buy store 856 in bakersfield. then got my old paycheck stub, scanned it in, changed the dates, and boom! (i do it for free printers at hp also)
if anybody needs a fake stub let me know. use store 856 in bakersfield ca. phone number 6615870675. or just go to bestbuy.com and find a store near you. then use my stub and your all good. 10 bucks ftw.

My wife works for one of the eligible retailers and I took all the required courses and ordered windows 7 but I haven't heard anything from them (ms expertzone). How long should it take to verify your employment?

I'm just looking into it, but turns out you can also get Pro for $30, not Ultimate however :(

;ladsfjas;lkfj, it is a good deal..... gaaaaaa. But I won't have a computer to run it on for a long time since I'm happy with mine...
