I'm surprised there isn't a state of the union thread up yet.

Anyone have any thoughts about it? I know it's pretty much the same every year talking more about international affairs instead of union affairs.

I was also disappointed he didn't have any bush-isms (probably some I didn't catch) in this speech.

Damn, I knew it was coming up, but forgot it was tonight. Oh well, as you said, he didn't say anything new, which is exactly what I expected to happen...

Nothing new. it was as much a political move for repubs as anything else.
Same ol' shit, different year. pleas to congress for this, pleas for that....in the end, nothing changes if nothing changes.
And was there someone in the audience flashing tits or something? too many instances where he almost cracked up laughing for me to believe he was serious.

Man, I didn't even see any of it. It's been so overshadowed by the Election 08 stuff.

I should've Tivo'd it, but thanks for the highlights Jackalope lol.

Why would anyone watch it, just a waste of time. Also, Bush has committed billions more to fight AIDS in Africa. There's just nobody at the wheel anymore these days.

You really didn't miss anything. Just one bit of rhetoric after another. That, and the constant up and down motions of the audience. [clap]up,[/clap]down.
