ASUS claims they are going to sell 200,000 of these in 2007, they better get on with it. I'll probably end up getting two if they work as advertised.

I think that's a very pessimistic number in my opinion, these will sell as hot cakes.

Thats a good idea. Pair up an external laptop hard drive to it for more storage.

Not if they don't get them to market. I've yet to run across one of their DIY laptops for example.

Would work perfect for a car computer, even with the 16 gig hd it could hold a ton of mp3's.

One of those'll make a great interface for my telescope...or a nav PC, or a....what the hell, the 200,000 are already sold to school districts. There'll probably be none available for the general public until next year and they'll jack the price due to demand. /pessimistic nature

But would the software for your telescope work in Linux? Is it web based or something? I've been meaning to ask you about your scope, how about a mini-review? I'd love to have one.

Good read, thanks. Given the build quality and limited OS I'll wait a while to see how easy it is to get Ubuntu or XP loaded on it. Given the tiny internal drive that could be a challenge. And with this now priced at $250 and normal laptops coming in as low as $300-350, this thing has REALLY limited appeal for me.
