Since my second CPU burned out from being overstressed. It was a 2500+ desktop same as the first both lasted allmost a year. Now my Mobile 2500+ is doing similar things(Misscalculations/Memory Locations being lost in cache, etc) and i'm feeling withdrawl from GuildWars

This one lasted about 6 months longer, seems mobiles DO last longer....but not too much longer. Its been running at 3.2Ghz since a week after I got it. I pushed it as far as 3.53 for a few weeks at the start. I have another 2500+ desktop on the way from a buddy of mine I went to school with, but I think it might be time I upgrade. My system as is runs all my games and programs perfectly, but its 3 years old and was thinking of playing with some new hardware. Maybe drop the watercooling and goto phasecahnge. Anyone here using phasechange? I've done peltiers before but new CPU's would be pushing 300+watts I bet, thats one hell of a $redundant PSU$ to power that 400watt peltier....

    Damn I hate guildwars

O shit, i put this in the wrong sections haha

Can a mod move this over the tweaking/overclocking or gen computing?

    Don't overclock until it's necessary.

Running it that high, you probably had to up the voltages, and now you're paying the electron-migration-death price...

If it doesn't run stable at stock voltages, with the stock HSF, then I don't do it...

Yea, I also had to mod my motherboard to increase the northbridge's voltage so it could handle FSB's higher than 208Mhz stable. VCore has been going at 2.275v instead of the stock 1.350v(? I forget what stock is for mobiles)

Now that i'm thinking about it sober, I guess mobiles do last substantially longer, about 18months as opposed to the 9-10 months my 2 desktop 2500's lasted, so the mobile lasted about 100% longer under the conditions.

Da Lucky 1: What motherboard you have? If you say Asus i'm gonna slap you. They make good boards, but dont expect much for overclocking.....REAL overclocking that is.

To all those who put down overclocking, I've possesed a CPU that performs like a 4500+ for the last 3 years. =P

I hope the chip that I'm getting tomorrow will hold up untill I get some $$ together for a new rig, its a 2500+ desktop that was pulled out of a 2yr old machine, never been overclocked before. Brown PCB(old model) so it should be unlocked.
