They were reporting on this during the football games this afternoon. I can't tell for sure but she seems somewhat contrite in the press conference. (I didn't watch it all). A point isn't enough for that, IMHO. She should have been DQ'ed whether it had happened on the first point of the match or, as here, on match point. We should start a pool on whether Obama will invite Serena and the line judge to the White House for a beer.
The foot fault call brought it to match point and the single point penalty they levied against her cost her the match. Had it been early in the match it could have been meaningless. I see in addition to the measly 10K fine (she'd already earned ~450K in the tourney), they are considering suspending her from next years Open and not giving her the 450K.
