Allright, so torrents are not a great place to find that ONE song ...... ahwile ago Kazaa was it, then it was Limewire, so what is THE thing to use now???
Limewire is riddled with adware. Just about every P2P program that doesn't deal in torrents has that problem now. Last I checked, Ares was still the only app that was safe to use.
I was gonna ask about that cause Ares seems about the same. So its a matter of how many "noobs" and crap gets on a service then?
"So its a matter of how many "noobs" and crap gets on a service then?" You're one of them, so dont worry about it.
All I meant was that there was more QUALITY stuff on Ares since there are less "average joes" on it. To put it another way, as the population of Kazaa and Limewire rose, so did the percentage of crap/bad files. As Ares is newer, there is a lower likelyhood of running into that stuff there.
"Ares Galaxy is a peer-to-peer file sharing program which was created in mid 2002." "Kazaa was created by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis March 2001" "LimeWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing client for the Gnutella network. It is free software released under the GNU General Public License. Limewire was the first file sharing program to support firewall-to-firewall file transfers, a feature introduced in version 4.2, which was released in November 2004." As you can see, Ares has been out longer or almost as long as the others... btw... a lot of p2p clients connect to the same networks so it's the same files a lot of the time... just incase you didnt know that
yes that's pretty much the most solid reason. It's open source meaning the whole world examines the code to make sure no bullshit is in it.
